Hidden away from Battlelog and the Battlefield Blog and Facebook page was this announcement on Twitter yesterday…

Yes, there is a Double XP event this weekend! It runs from 11am GMT (3am PST) today to the same time on Monday. A shame it wasn’t advertised better
