When I created the site earlier this year it was a way for me to publish articles about Battlefield, rather than cluttering my personal site. In time, I started adding news articles and, before soon, I was regularly publishing once, or even twice, a day.
However, time is finite and mine certainly is. BFMedic.com hasn’t taken off as well as I’d hoped and my requests for other people to help with the site has fallen on deaf ears – many have signed up but few have published anything.
I’ve always found it odd that people prefer to get their Battlefield news by watching videos of someone playing the game (and often related to the news item) whilst a voice-over delivers the information. It’s hardly portable, read-anywhere delivery. But that is, indeed, what people prefer.
So, unless anything miraculous happens in the next few weeks, it’s my intention to scale back the site – news article will no longer be published (just gameplay advice and that kind of thing) and I’ll no longer accept new contributors.
If you don’t want that to happen, now is the time to say so (use the comment section below).
Update (9th September): User contribution has been switched off so all content in future will come from myself. News, in particular, will be trimmed down to the important news items, rather than server updates and other points of minority.
