Glitching in Operation Metro

I’ve written before about how difficult Operation Metro in Battlefield 4 can be to play. What doesn’t make this any better is that there are glitches in the map that allow people to easily cheat.

What Do The Glitches Do?

They allow you to get “into” the ceiling so that you can approach flags un-seen – in some cases you even have the ability to kill opponents too. However, you can’t be killed by those outside of the glitched areas.

How Is It Done?

To get into the ceiling you simply need to jump in various sections of the map – sometimes you need assistance to get up high enough and this is achieved by jumping on a MAV.

Here is how to get into the ceiling from the US side…

The entrances are marked on this map…

Here is how to do it from the RU side (this is new footage just released)…

For the MAV option, below is a series of images from the game showing the locations.

What’s Happening?

The recent CTE patch has added Operation Metro has a map and they have apparantly applied a fix for the glitch. However, they only refer to a “a glitch” and, as you can see, with multiple entrance points it appears to be more than one. However, it’s early days and the assumption is that this will be fixed in due course.

Meantime, players such as Battlefield Scumbags continue to highlight those cheating via these means.

Is This A Big Problem?

I’ll leave you with 3 videos, each demonstrating a number of people making using of the glitches to their benefit.

Thanks to Battlefield Scumbags for the information.

This article is not promoting the use of the glitch but ensuring that people are aware of it and know how to identify those that are taking advantage of it.

  1. I would say if you experience anyone using these glitches then try and get video evidence of them doing so, even if it means backing out of the game and jumping in using spectator mode. Once you achieved suitable footage send it along to dice via the report feature on Battlelog and maybe even Twitter.

Do be aware people naming and shaming on the Battlelog forums will probably find themselves banned from the forums for a short while, this is due to a name and shame policy they have there.

Nope! They’re still getting up there, I’m still reporting each and every one, and not a single thing has been done. Every account I’ve reported (I started keeping a list) is still perfectly active and STILL abusing the ceiling glitches, presumably for high K/D’s and eventually slots on leaderboards. So I’m done with Metro. Not only that, but this will be my last Battlefield game ever (SERIOUSLY regret buying Premium) and I will forever be wary of purchasing ANY EA games 1st-day. They don’t care anymore.
