Improving Dualshock 4 Battery Life

The controller for the PS4 is a vast improvement on those that have gone before it but having wireless audio, a large light on the back and a speaker really drains the battery. As a result you’ll be lucky to get 8 hours of it. However, there is a solution – replacing the battery with one of a higher capacity.

Batteries for the PS3 controller will also work and it’s possible to get one of these, in the UK, for a little over £3.50, including P&P. This will increase the mAh from 1000 to 1800 – a boost in battery life to about 14 hours!

The video below, courtesy of JerryRigEverything, will show you how to get access to the battery in the Dualshock 4.

Thanks for Trigz for the insight.
